Antique photograph of the Hall of knights (Berlin Royal palace) - stock illustration

Antique photograph of interior of the Berlin City Palace or Berlin Royal Palace (Berliner Stadtschloss), a royal and imperial winter palace (built between 15th and 18th century) that was located in the centre of Berlin (Germany), before it was destroyed after the bombing of the World War I (now under re-construction). This room was called the Old Throne Room or Knight's Hall (Der Rittersaal in German) and featured a beautiful rococo decoration (1702) with superbly ornate friezes in relief, cornices and parapets, in the picture a partial view (also covered by the Baroque crystal chandeliers) of the ceiling, painted by Johann Friedrich Wentzel, and of the sumptuous sideboard. Photograph taken in the late 19th century
