Arlberg Railway Viaduct in Austria, wood engraving, published in 1885 - stock illustration
Historical view of the Arlberg Railway viaduct over the Schmidtobel between Bratz and Dalaas in Austria. Built between 1880 and 1884. With the route, a connection was created between Lake Constance and the Adriatic Sea for the first time. It is Austria's only east-west mountain railway and one of the highest standard gauge railways in Europe. Wood engraving after a drawing by Joseph Nieriker (Swiss painter and illustrator, 1828 - 1903), published in 1885.
