Yama riding on his bull

Deity Yama, riding on his bull with tongues of flame emanating from his crown, has his noose around the young Markandeya. Markandeya is embracing a linga, from which emerges Shiva, pointing his trishula (trident) at Yama. He carries the weapon in his upper pair of hands, while in his lower right hand he carries the damaru (hourglass shaped drum) and in the lower left a parashu (axe).
