COWDENBEATH, SCOTLAND - APRIL 23: ExxonMobil's Fife Ethylene Plant where "unplanned flaring" following a malfunction has caused concern amongst local residents, on April 23, 2019 in Cowdenbeath, Scotland. Flaring at the ethylene plant is part of a safety protocol, but has caused concern in the local area with residents taking to social media to complain of the loud roaring noise from the flare stack, and a lingering chemical smell in the atmosphere.
