Guatemalan President Carlos Castillo Armas, shown here in a photo groom files, made in February, 1955, conferring with Vice President Richard Nixon (R) during the latter's goodwill visit, was slain by an assassin in the Presidential Palace here July 27. The slayer, identified as Romeo Vasquez Sanchez, a palace guard reported to be a communist, killed himself after shooting the anti-Red President Castillo Armas.
