Large crowd gathered in Ridley Road E8 to demonstrate against former fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley and members of his anti-Semitic Blackshirt group who had planned a rally in London's East End. Mosley and his anti-Semitic Blackshirt were assaulted and punched to the ground as soon as his meeting opened at Ridley Road, Dalston.
