BAKU, AZERBAIJAN - MARCH : March 22, 2012, Karvansaray, Old City, Baku, Azerbaijan. The restaurant inside the Karwansaray serves traditional Novruz food. On the table is a variety of Novruz sweets including Guba baklava and Sheki halva. In the middle of the sweets is sprouted wheat, called semeni, which is always grown during Novruz to symbolize a rich harvest and abundance. The history of Novruz in Azerbaijan - which means "new day" and marks the spring holiday that celebrates the revival of nature, moral purity and equality, goes back millennia. The holiday is officially registered on UNESCOs List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. (Photo by Reza/Getty Images)
