The worlds most expensive health farm, 26 November 1968.
UNITED KINGDOM : The caption reads: 'Women like the Duchess of Windsor pay 50 pounds a day to stay here and refurbish their bloom. It is called the Greenhouse and it is built in the style of an ornate Victorian conservatory. Lush ferns and glorious hibiscus trees are set around the swimming pool that is always five degrees below body temperature. In an atmosphere of deliberate calm there is a steady regimen of swing and sway exercises, massage, facials and saunas. Meals are beautifully prepared but never exceed 850 calories a day. At the Greenhouse poolside bicycle slimming, cosmetic treatment and non-fattening meals are served up in style.' (Photo by SSPL/Getty Images)
