Spanish Catholic Movement Organizes An Event To Remember Franco And Primo De Rivera
MADRID, SPAIN - NOVEMBER 20: Two FEMEN activists, together with national police officers, attend an event organized by the Spanish Catholic Movement (MCE) in memory of Francisco Franco and Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, at the Plaza de Oriente, on November 20, 2022, in Madrid, Spain. The event is being held to commemorate Francisco Franco on the 47th anniversary of his death and the founder of La Falange, Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera on the 86th anniversary of his execution by firing squad. This is the first occasion in which the anniversary of the death of both is celebrated after the entry into force of the Law of Democratic Memory which includes that the monumental complex of the Valley of the Fallen returns to its original denomination of the Valley of Cuelgamuros and that the remains of Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera are relocated. The Government Delegation in Madrid has authorized all the acts on the occasion of the 20-N. (Photo By Alejandro Martinez Velez/Europa Press via Getty Images)
