The Supreme Court Sentences The Definitive End Of Madrid Central
MADRID, SPAIN - MAY 11: Two Madrid Central signs on the road, on 11 May, 2021 in Madrid, Spain. The low-emission zone implemented by the former mayor of Madrid City Council in the center of the capital on November 30, 2018, known as Madrid Central, has been suspended after the Supreme Court rejected the latest appeal filed by Ecologists in Action. This decision of the Supreme confirms, therefore, the previous judgment of the High Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) in which it annulled the low-emissions zone due to formal defects. This also means that the fines imposed during the period of validity of the law will lapse. (Photo By A. Perez Meca/Europa Press via Getty Images)
