The Basilica of St. John was a basilica in Ephesus. It was constructed by Justinian I in the 6th century. The Basilica stands over the believed burial site of John the Apostle. Ephesus City was used as a settlement for approximately 8500 years in Hellenistic and Roman age as well as in the Ottoman period. Ancient Ephesus City is in World Heritage List of UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), attracting millions of foreign and domestic tourists from all over the world. Ephesus, was considered as a center for civilization of its era due to its progression on culture, art and trade, is the only city in the world made completely of marble.
