Senator Nelson warns Trump administration against offshore drilling plan
Florida Senator Bill Nelson points to a chart showing military zones in the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic seaboard to point out that in drilling with threaten the life blood of Florida's economy, its touristy driven, multibillion-dollar economy lost in 2010 after the BP oil spill. Nelson says the Defense Department does not want drilling because of offshore military areas, and it was not unusual to start to see local governments spring into action to oppose drilling off of the Florida coast, that the BP oil spill was still in recovery under a decade later, and the stakes are extremely high for the economy of states all along the eastern coast, concluding that they cannot be risked.
