Senate voice votes ending marathon budget votes
Georgia Senator David Purdue tell the Senate that after six hours of voting his amendment is the last and the only bipartisan amendment prior to voting on the bill, arguing that the budget process is utter nonsense, to applause. Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse urges a strong bipartisan voice vote because the process is not producing meaningful budget, but instead a meaningless partisan vote-a-rama, which occurs with some laughter in the chamber.
