(Part 1 of 2) - [On government u-turn yesterday and whether she trusts Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng] we have listened to what people said on this issue, it wasn't a core part of this plan / it was becoming a distraction so that's why we changed the policy / we do respond when there are concerns and we act quickly / [more on whether she trusts Kwarteng] facing difficult economic times, rising interest rates around the world, serious issues with energy and inflation, we've acted decisively, put in place the energy price guarantee / we're focussed on getting on with the job / [why should people trust her to deliver?] look at what we've already delivered, the energy price guarantee, reduced stamp duty, keeping corporation tax low / we will continue to deliver, it's vitally important that we grow the economy / [on Penny Mordaunt's comments on benefits rising in line with inflation] on the subject of benefits, we have not yet made that decision, of course, there will be discussions about the way forward on commitments like benefits, how we deal with future budgets, but I'm very clear, coming into this winter, we do need to help the most vulnerable / this government will always help people get on with life whilst making sure most vulnerable are protected / [on Penny Mordaunt benefit comments] no decision has been made yet on that issue / [on rising mortgages] understand people are worried about cost of living and inflation / we've acted decisively on the energy price guarantee / interest rates are set by independent Bank of England / the energy intervention is likely to curb inflation / what we're seeing around the world, in the wake of Putin's war in Ukraine, is interest rates rise / we will do what we can to support people
