Senator Warren explains coronavirus housing challenges to minority populations

Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts tells reporters at a news conference that forcing thousands of people out of their homes during a pandemic would worsen the public health crisis, housing disruptions would affect essential workers and others who kept the economy going, wave of evictions communities of color the hardest, further deepening racial inequalities, over 30 percent of all renters said they had little or no confidence of making their rent and 40 percent of Black and LatinX renters were not sure they could make the next rent payment, almost two thirds of renters not comfortable about making the rent earning over 35,000 dollars a year and more than a quarter of Black and LatinX renters could not pay last months rent or had it deferred, to think about one in every four black or Latino renters already behind.
