Starfish in seagrass - HD stock video

Starfish in seagrass at Bunaken Marine Park. This marine animal is an echinoderm. It has five-fold symmetry with arms radiating outwards from the centre. Its mouth is located on its underside and the anus on top. With no front or back it can move over the seabed in any direction, walking on its hundreds of tiny tube feet. It does not, however, have a brain. Instead, rings of nerves surround the central oesophagus and co-ordinate the movement of the starfish. Filmed at Bunaken Island, Sulawesi, Indonesia. Bunaken Island still has almost pristine coral reefs, supporting a rich diversity of marine life
