Original Bauhaus Buildings In And Around Berlin

The Hufeisensiedlung housing estate stands in Britz district on April 2, 2019 in Berlin, Germany. The Hufeisensiedlung estate, in English called the Horseshoe Estate, is shaped like a horseshoe, was designed by architect Bruno Taut and, together with its many neighboring buildings, was built between 1925 and 1933. The estate is one of several built in the same period in Berlin in an effort to meet high demand for affordable housing and with designs heavily influenced by the Bauhaus. This year is the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, a movement launched in 1919 in Weimar that had far-reaching influence on art, design, photography, theatre and architecture all over the world.
